Today we are pleased to be interviewing author, JB Miller as part of our Celebration of Authors, Readers & Books – 2017. Let’s jump right into the interview:

Does writing energize or exhaust you?
A little of both, depending on what I am writing at the time. Sometimes a scene can be emotionally draining, and I am knackered afterwards.

What kind of research do you do, and how long do you spend researching before beginning a book?
Research! I think I do more research than writing. Mostly it’s online, or I talk to people or go to places. Google maps is great for locations far away! lol But, I research throughout the whole book!

How did publishing your first book change your process of writing?
This is a hard one, as I was orig. Indie but was picked up by a publisher. It was not a good experience and it took me two years to get back into writing after that. Now, I am very wary of publishing houses.

What are you working on now?
I’m working on two books at the moment. The last in the Dianthe Mcleareay series, called Dianthes’s Darkness and an erotic short called Bad Girl.

How did you come up with the idea for your book?
Ummm I don’t? they just kind of pop out of my head fully formed. think Zeus and Athena. I just jot them down. Its like watching a movie play in my head, and if i get it wrong, they “The Characters” let me know!

Are there any nuggets of wisdom you can impart to aspiring writers?
Keep writing. even when you don’t want to, when the words will not flow, just write. even if it’s gibberish. Because once you stop, it’s so hard to start again.
